Whether you need to move ten cars or one, the most important thing is ensuring the car reaches its final destination safely and undamaged. Driving a vehicle is a complex undertaking. It necessitates extensive knowledge and expertise in the operation.
A competent car transportation company will guarantee that your car arrives at the given destination in an undamaged condition. However, you can still do something to ensure your vehicle reaches its destination safely. Below are a few measures that can be taken to achieve your goals.
The driver in charge of your car will conduct his pre-collection checks when you give your car over for the move. Make sure to prepare your vehicle for the process. It is best to wash it properly since dust and debris can easily conceal scrapes and dents.
You must be open and inform the driver of any current known damage. When picking up the car, the driver will note the mileage, and you can do the same. The recovery operator will take pictures of your vehicle from all sides.
As for the fuel, we advise leaving 5 to 10 litres in the tank. Provided the car is functional, there must be enough fuel in the car or the lorry for the driver to move it on to and off the transporter and around the compound.
Another thing you need to know is that any unnecessary objects should be removed from your car. Also, you must be cautious and remove anything valuable from the car before collection, such as laptops, phones, wallets, jewellery, etc
Even though virtually all drivers undergo a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check before starting employment with CMG, a procedure in which companies seek a criminal background check on someone applying for a position, it is still advisable to err on the side of caution as we don’t want the vehicle broken into whilst in our care.
Transparency is key. It would help if you were clear about what you require from the start. There needs to be an open line of communication between you and the recovery operator.
Car transportation companies offer a control room call centre that is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. So you can be confident that all of your concerns will be addressed.
Vehicles whilst under the care of CMG are fully insured. However, if you’re getting a high-end car transported or multiple high-end vehicles transported, you should tell the control room operator, as they may need to upgrade their insurance temporarily while your car is in our care.

You need to be realistic about what a recovery operator can and cannot do for your transportation needs. They will do their best to deliver vehicles on time in the time that have promised, but sometimes things happen outside their control, i.e road closures. Make sure you are clear with them about your expectations from the outset.
